On the other hand, nuclear blebs, similar to these found in different kinds of vertebrate blood cells, may be seen in the testicular cyst cells of this invertebrate.Ĭhez l'insecte Philaenus spumarius, les spermatogonies contiennent des lamelles annelées cytoplasmiques et intranucléaires. But, above all, they evidently serve as a support of the chromatin. Intranuclear lamellae may represent a membranous reserve to be utilized for the formation of the numerous daughter cells nuclei of one primary spermatogonia. The origin of these so unusually developed lamellae is discussed. Intranuclear annulate lamellae are often seen directly connected to the inner nuclear membrane. They are present, too, in the cyst cells where they persist in old, endomitotic cells. They are absent from spermatocytes and the following cells in the course of spermatogenesis. Intranuclear annulate lamellae are very important in primary spermatogonia but they are progressively reduced in intermediate and secondary spermatogonia and finally disappear. In the insect Philaenus spumarius, spermatogonia contain cytoplasmic and intranuclear annulate lamellae.
